Our Annual Plant Sale was held Saturday May 12, 2018 on the Hollis Town Common
Thank you to our supportive community members who came by and we hope you enjoy a beautiful garden for years to come!
Our very successful plant sales are the result of almost every garden club member contributing time, ideas, plants and many hours of hard work.
How We Get The Plants:
It is truly wonderful to see how so many people contribute plants. As members, we dig in other garden club members’ gardens, some non-garden club members’ gardens, as well as our own gardens. We take parts of the perennials to help thin the plantings, and then pot them for the sale. We dig in the spring and the fall. We offer an amazing selection of sun and shade perennials, ground covers, bushes and trees – something to please every gardener.
We also purchase annuals, hanging baskets and herbs at wholesale prices from local garden centers such as Pitarys Farm/Fotene’s Market and Proven Winners.
Since it’s always held on Mother’s Day weekend, we offer around 60 Mother’s Day Baskets, which usually sell very well to the children.
Our success is due to so many people helping in so many ways from contributing, digging, potting, pricing, moving, and selling plants, as well as cashiering and helping customers at the sale. It truly is an amazing event where every member finds a way to participate. It all adds up to one great sale and one very exciting day.
This year’s event was again a huge success. This is our annual fundraiser which provides the funds for our community contributions, charitable contributions, scholarships, town beautification and more.
Thank you and we hope you can join us again next year!
