Integrated Pest Management and Insects in our Garden – CANCELLED

May 5 @ 9:00 am - 12:30 pm

Rachel Maccini of UNH Cooperative Extension will discuss the major groups of garden pests and give tips to identify the most common found in gardens in New Hampshire.  She will help gardeners learn how to incorporate important Integrated Pest Management “IPM” strategies to control garden pests.  IPM is an ecological approach to pest control that protects pollinators and is safer for the environment.  Rachel will walk us through the basics of IPM, which includes knowing the proper method to use at the proper time.  Good cultural practices and proper selection of plant varieties, coupled with mechanical and biological controls will help control populations.

Rachel Maccini is an entomologist and the Pesticide Education Coordinator at the University of New Hampshire Cooperative Extension.

This meeting and presentation has been cancelled.  We hope to bring Rachel Maccini back at another time.   The Lawrence Barn in Hollis is temporarily closed to all meetings.  We will continue to update our website regarding future meetings and presentations.

Stay safe, stay healthy.
